Former PSG, Man United midfielder Herrera returns to Zaragoza

Former Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Ander Herrera rejoined third-tier Spanish side Zaragoza, his boyhood club, on Tuesday.

Herrera, who turns 37 in August, started his career with Zaragoza before moving to Athletic Bilbao in 2011 and then to Old Trafford in 2014.

The midfielder played for Boca Juniors in Argentina in the 2025-26 season before returning to Zaragoza, relegated last season, on a one-year deal.

"Herrera, a product of Real Zaragoza's youth academy, returns home at the age of 36 after a long and successful career defending the colours of some of the best clubs in the world," said Zaragoza in a statement.
